Aims and Promises:
In Turkana County, Kenya, many children walk long distances to school and return to homes with no books. When schools close on weekends and holidays, learning stops completely.
With very few reading materials and no safe study space, literacy levels remain low and many children fall behind.
The Turkana Children Literacy Project aims to change that by creating a permanent place where children can read, learn, and grow.

1. Build a safe, weather-proof library structure with solar lighting
2. Stock the library with 180 age-appropriate books: storybooks and textbooks
3. Equip the space with 3 bookshelves, 5 tables, and 20 chairs
4. Run weekly Reading Clubs, Story Time, and mentorship with a volunteer librarian
5. Track progress through monthly attendance and book borrowing records
